Welcome, glad to see you find this page.  Over the years I have been been lucky enough to find myself part of the SQL community.  One of the aspects of this community is the willingness to share knowledge with others.  This page is just a list of resources that I want to share with the community.  If there is something missing please let me know the details so I can add it.  Otherwise, enjoy.

Oh yes ! This is a work in progress, there a lot more that I am going to add.

Power BI / DAX

Guy In A Cube

Power BI is a technology which I freely admit that I really like.  After using the visuals in Excel, then I knew this was something different.

Guy In Cube
This was started by Adam Saxton (who has the most amazing t-shirt collection BTW), now he is joined by the awesome Patrick LeBlanc.   The videos are short and cover usually just one topic, they are excellent teachers.  As new features are introduced they take time to talk about them and show you how to use them.

SQL BI

If you want to know about DAX, power pivot, analysis services then this website should be in your favorites. The main technical authors are Alberto Ferrari and Marco Russo. There are a number of websites assoicated with the main site

https://www.sqlbi.com/ - here you will find l blog posts, articles, and training courses both free and paid for. These are in my opinion the best in on this topic with out a doubt.

https://www.daxpatterns.com/ - an online cookbook for typical challenges you will find when trying to solve issues.  Not only do you get the DAX code you also get an explanation and guidance.

Free tools i was going to include a couple of links to the free tools i have used before such as DAX Studio or DAX formatter.  What I was not aware of the other free tools that they offer.  Something I think worth exploring you never know what you might find smiley

In case you thought it was all just DAX and complicated code.  There is also okViz which if you use PowerBI you need to be aware of, these are some of the best most advanced custom visuals for PowerBi.  Yes some of them are paid for, why not?  They are some of best examples I have personally used, for example Synoptic Panel and Smart Filter are just fantastic.
